What we are reading...

We admit it. Our great love and sometime vice is reading. We have to curb ourselves or nothing else would ever get done in our lives.

A great plus to our family's decision to homeschool is that our children are able to read literally for hours each day.

So, we will be posting about our reading forays past and present.

The name of our blog: From Our Side of the Mountain was inspired by Jean Craighead George's book My Side of the Mountain and its sequel, The Other Side of the Mountain. George has given us a beautifully written story that gives a vicarious thrill to every child who delights in adventure even as he desires to be cautious. Sam and Alice Gribley (from the story) have kept our young readers engaged and learning!
