Family Camp 2011
Our family headed back to Michigan and Stoney Lake for our family summer vacation in 2011.
We enjoyed the anticipation of knowing that our good friends/Sweet Pea's godparents were also
going to attend the camp.
We stayed with the Hans on the way up which gave Poppy the opportunity to play incessantly
for hours with the 3 younger Han children who circle her in age.
The theme for camp this year was:
It was nice for us to have B&C there to spend time with Sweet Pea
and to chat on the rocking chair porch after meals and to join to
pray the rosary with during the week.
D. enjoyed the AquaFin again depite capsizing regularly. He is pretty good with the paddleboard too.
I think for Cornflower the camp was even more fun this year as she had two friends (siblings)
who she has known for 2/3rds of her life at camp too. She tackled the tree climbing really well
and is pretty good with the paddleboard.
Poppy rekindled her friendship with her camp friend Josie L. and the two loved to spend time out
on the big rocks by the flagpoles outside the dining hall after meals and talk about
goodness only knows what. Poppy caught a ridiculous number of fish during the Kid Club fishing day.
The challenge of camp this year was of course, Sweet Pea, but she was in the sling through much
of the week and being only 4 months received the youngest camper award.
A lot of the same staff was there including:
Dean, Maggie, Mary Low (who lead in place of Abimbola), Nancy, Kate, and of course the all four Witts.
What a great place it is to be as a family and to be with friends.
